Canadian Lodge Denies That Royal Couple Will Be Honeymooning There

The resort has recently officially denied that the two of them will be visiting at all.

After the royal wedding, it was rumored that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be staying at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Canada for their honeymoon. However, the resort has recently officially denied that the two of them will be visiting at all.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles, as well as King George VI and the Queen Mother have all spent time at the lodge in Alberta in the past, which is what led people to speculate that Harry would follow their lead and take Meghan there for their honeymoon. The luxury resort even has a Royal Retreat cabin named after the royal guests that stay there in 1939.

While Canada seems to be off the list, Africa is still a possibility for the newlyweds. Africa has a special place in Harry’s heart, as he calls it the place where “I feel more like myself than anywhere in the world.” He paid a visit there after his mother, Princess Diana, died in 1997. He has also done a lot of conservation work in the surrounding regions.

But it’s not just Harry who loves the continent. On one of their early dates, Harry took Meghan to Botswana and this past August they took a three-week trip there for her birthday. Even more special is the fact that Harry bought the center diamond for the engagement ring there.

Where will the newlyweds end up honeymooning? Stay tuned to find out.
