Why The Nate Offers The Best Serviced Studios For Long Term Travelers

Part co-living facility and part serviced apartments, The Nate combines the best of both to bring you a chic, comfortable space to call home.

Why we love this: The Nate is truly a hidden gem in the middle of crazy dense Hong Kong. Offering accommodation for long-term travelers with some seriously on-point design, The Nate reimagines everything that serviced studio living can be.

Suitable For: Business travelers, solo travelers, couples, digital nomads, long term travelers.

The Concept:

In the exciting age of increasingly varied accommodation options, The Nate strives to elevate the experience of serviced apartment rentals. District 15, the developers behind the property, wanted to create chic, functional accommodations for the new type of transient global traveler.

“Serviced apartments in Asia have been around for a really long time. It’s always catered to people coming in on short term contracts. I think what we’ve tried to do here is take it up a notch in terms of how we’re engaging with our community and our residents.” – Alex Bent, Co-Founder of District 15

Part co-living facility and part serviced apartments, The Nate combines the best of both to bring you a chic, comfortable space to call home. Shared facilities include: state-of-the-art kitchen with all the appliances you could possibly need, stylish working lounge with views, laundry room and uber-hip rooftop that looks like it belongs in New York City rather than Hong Kong. Having a communal kitchen frees up precious space in the rooms to truly relax. Thus, The Nate provides the best of both worlds, where guests can choose to be social if they want but still have a space of their own to retreat to.

The minimum commitment to rent a studio is one month and prices range from $15,000-$24,000 HKD per month. Studios range from 150-250 sq ft. featuring twin, queen or bunk beds. The studios really maximize the space they have to work with, as real estate in Hong Kong is precious and most places up for rent are extremely compact. Every studio has an impressive amount of storage space built into the beds, closets and shelves. Some even feature private balconies and soaking tubs that add a touch of luxury to your studio.

Whether you’re a business traveler working on an extended project or a digital nomad looking to discover Hong Kong, The Nate offers a new kind of serviced studio customized to fit the needs of modern global professionals.

The Design:

Charlie & Rose was entrusted with the design of The Nate, thanks to the company’s expertise in creatively outfitting food and beverage venues inside compact spaces. The Nate, overall, has a preppy, immaculate feel. Everywhere you go, you’re enveloped in a stately color palette of dark green with sparkling gold accents. The rooms are sleek and minimalist, featuring smooth concrete floors and dark oak wood furniture.

The designers drew inspiration from Kowloon Park, located right down the street, when designing The Nate. As one of the greenest zones in Hong Kong, they strived to create a similar oasis in which guests could chill out and break away from the city. Hallways and communal spaces are generously decorated with leafy plants of all shapes and sizes. A winning feature is the rooftop, which is decked out in succulents and boho-chic furniture with a Hong Kong skyline view to die for.

The common space located on the top floor also comes with killer views of the cityscape. The gorgeous lounge has tons of natural light and is fashioned like a coworking space with a communal table and sitting areas. The large kitchen is connected to the lounge and features ultra-modern stovetops, refrigerators and appliances.

The Experience:

Everything about staying at The Nate is comfortable and convenient. The studios are located right off Nathan Road, smack dab in the middle of Tsim Sha Tsui. It’s within close walking distance to Jordan and Tsim Sha Tsui MRT Stations, as well as the Star Ferry and Kowloon Harbour. The neighboring commercial streets are packed with food stalls and restaurants so that it’s impossible to ever go hungry. There’s also tons of shops, convenience stores and boutiques in the area so that you can quickly purchase most things that you may need.

Sustainability is a core value at The Nate. Upon check-in, all guests are given a water bottle and a tote bag to use throughout their stay, as the property is striving to eliminate plastic completely. There are filtered water dispensers on every floor for everyone to easily fill up whenever they need water. Individual toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner aren’t provided in the rooms so that guests can bring the right size in order to accommodate their length of stay.

In place of typical services such as a fitness center or room service, The Nate has a number of partners who offer discounts to residents. Residents can get discounts for Deliveroo, Boxful storage services, Impressed laundry services, BottlesXO for alcohol delivery and ClassPass fitness classes. A friendly concierge team is available 24/7 should you have any questions, need maintenance support or want recommendations in the area.

The impeccable design infinitely elevates the experience so that the property feels like your own swanky city apartment. The Nate is a fabulous place to go home to every day, and highly recommended for any long-term traveler looking to experience Hong Kong like a trendy local.
