A speakeasy unveils a 1920’s French library.

Raised by Wolves is a speakeasy that disguises itself as an old-school liquor store with a comprehensive collection of whiskeys and bourbons. To enter the bar, you’ll need to sit on one of the chairs at the fireplace. As it turns, the other side of the wall unveils a stunning space replicating a French library during the 1920s. 

Under a gorgeous stained-glass gazebo dome ceiling, there’s a 22-foot African Gold marble bar surrounded by vintage “claw and ball” stools that were imported from London. There’s also LED lighting  that recreates sunrise all the way to sunset. Hand-painted French-countryside murals, brass wolf heads to maintain the theme, and retro lamps transport guests to a dream-state under the celestial night sky. 

The cocktail menu is expansive, featuring anything from Jamaican Overproof Rum to London Dry Gin. On this night, I chose a Uno Ojo, which means “one eye” – perfect for tequila lovers. It was concocted with Blanco Tequila, Amontillado Sherry, Ginger, Lime, and Cucumber. And it was as refreshing and satisfying as you’d imagine!
