Without analyzing the context in which this quote was said, it remains very much relevant today especially if cake looks and tastes as good as they do in Kiev’s The Cake.
The relationship between The Cake and France seems even greater after you try their macarons. They are indeed ‘délicieux et merveilleux!’ The filling is rich to perfection, while the biscuit is just enough crispy. It is a real mystery, but those macaroons can easily pass for ones in Maison Ladurée. Point of information – I have tried Laduree macarons from their locations in Istanbul to New York and even have their recipe book. Making macarons is no easy business.
Apart from the macaroons, The Cake has amazing éclairs, marmalade and various pasteries. As for drinks, my favorite is the homemade ginger tea (although for some, it might be on the sweeter side.)
Another reason to go to the cake is for that 100 like Instagram photo – just from this week I chose some best photos people took there! Foursquare would say – this place is definitely trending.
