Instagram in London is a gigantic social scene, dominated by three users, one Instagrammer being @gcooler who currently spreads his London love with 43.1K followers (and growing.) His mission:
I don’t want money to get involved, this is about the community.
With his frequent Instagram meet-ups that gather local and traveling photographers, artists and visitors from abroad; Gcooler (aka: Avi G Levy) shares his larger than life personality throughout a city just as massive. Maybe generosity is a more appropriate description, of a kind soul who simply wants to share a good time with people treasured with interesting stories to unveil.
My night out in London with Gcooler was inspired by a previous Jetset Times article, written by our very own Nadia Cho, who met the local photographer during her visit last spring. The instant Gcooler and I met, we both knew this would be a very good night. When your mind is open to whatever that may come with the territory of spontaneity and the unknown, you’re winning. In this case, the prize was a great company who’s creativity led us exploring all over Londontown in sheer amusement.
Gcooler’s Instagram feed reads like a gorgeous coffee table book, of a local who perceives his city as a boundless adventure, infinitely offering vibrant flashing lights captivating his soul. His declaration for London isn’t surprising, especially if you’re also a city lover addicted to its immeasurable possibilities.
For someone who grew up in Turkey and occasionally still makes a trip back home, his London is spoken from the heart:
There’s something about this city that still gets me so excited, I never want to leave.
If you’ve ever met any “social media celebrities” or an “Instagrammer” even in the travel blogsphere, you know that some personalities come with an unfortunate ounce of ego. What a pleasant surprise it was to embark on London By Night with an eminent Instagrammer who keeps it real with a touch of hilarity and a whole lotta cool.
