We’re going to the markets! From day markets to night markets, this is a typical Taiwanese life. And truly, a huge part of the local culture, especially around Lunar New Year. So brace yourselves, and get ready to taste endless street food samples. (It’s even better than Costco, just sayin’.)

Yilan 宜蘭

Cheng Zhong City Market 城中市場

Amid busy boulevards near the Main Station in Taipei, you can stroll into another type of busy alleys in between old buildings. The Cheng Zhong City Market is where you can find truly local finds with a few dollars!

Dihua Market 迪化街年貨大街

Constructed during the 1850s, Dihua Street normally has a fantastic night market in the middle of the city. Around Lunar New Year, however, the street is even more festive with the market dedicated to the annual celebration.
