My need to travel came out of two major feelings: I wanted to explore the world, how people live and how other cultures understand life; and I wanted to know how we can improve our living together on this planet, how to reduce injustice and how to increase the living conditions of those who don’t enough to survive, for education or health care.
I chose to work for 10 years in the field of development cooperation, which made it possible for me to gain valuable insight and understanding into global and local economic processes and different cultural backgrounds, plus it enabled me to understand different ways of living and different ways of looking at the same thing. It also gave me the opportunity to travel and to experience the world with my own eyes. I lived in five different countries and eight different cities in the last 10 years not including any traveling that I did. I was amazed about all the beauty I found along the way and how much it shaped and inspired me. When I decided to start my personal dream ono, I wanted to have all these experiences, feelings and inspirations combined to shape ono as a brand I would fall in love with: A brand that creates beauty and inspiration for everyone involved, that is fair and respects nature, animals, the planet and protects it for future generations.
At the end of 2016, I decided together with my husband to make Verbier our home for the time being as we both loved the incredible view and the impressive nature we found here – mountains, forests, fields, waterfalls, lakes and fresh air all around. I love walking our dog every day and just by looking around, breathing in, enjoying the sun and the snow I feel happy and blessed. And above all, this beautiful valley is the home of many friendly people including an international community of outdoor enthusiasts, which makes it easy to connect and make friends super quickly.
