5 Things To Do With Your Best Friends In Stockholm

Stockholm is like the L.A. of Sweden.

In my opinion, Stockholm is the best place in Sweden. Keep in mind that 97% of this country is uninhabited. So you have a slim choice of exciting cities to choose from.

Stockholm is like the L.A. of Sweden. It’s super diverse, really big, and everyone living there looks chic AF. The city is also sectored into specific areas. You have Söldermalm, Östermalm, Gamla Stan and a few other that I just feel aren’t exciting enough to list. These sectors allow everyone to find their niche within the city. Whether your into exclusive rooftop bars or slummed down pubs, you’ll find your happy place.

The only thing you’ll need to be aware of in Stockholm, besides the never-ending traffic of attractive people, is the cost. Stockholm is fucking expensive. Like seriously, a weekend trip into the capital requires a few weeks of careful budgeting. The standard price for a drink is $17-$20. If you’re anything like me, and tend to become abnormally generous when drunk, you can imagine these steep prices make it tough to live it up.

Despite the fact that the city forces me into debt, Stockholm is still my go-to for a good time in Sweden. Here are few things you and your girls must do while in the capital.

1. Go to Sergels Torg.

Geography wise, Sergels Torg is the most central public square in Stockholm. It has shopping, food, monuments, and your next to literally everything. Sergels Torg has heavy tourist traffic, but that also just adds to the experience.

2. Gamla Stan. AKA Old Town.

Gamla Stan is a successfully preserved ancient area. Though it does attract a ton of tourists, it’s a trip worth taking. The narrow streets, small backyards and location near the water are all must-sees. Also make sure you grab some fika after a day of walking around. No one knows how to make Kanelbullar better than a traditional Swedish woman.

3. Go to Gondolen.

Boys, if you want to impress a lady bring her here. The restaurant offers insanely good fine dining, exotic drinks, and an overall view of Stockholm. Yes, it is expensive but it is well worth it. The whole ambiance of the restaurant screams upper echelon and I love it.

4. Dance all night long.

Stockholm offers an amazing night life. Aside from that, they also have Open Air events. If you don’t know what Open Air is, do yourself a favor and google that shit. If your going out for a night on the town, I’d strongly recommend going to the following venues: Berns, Trädgården and Spy Bar.

5. Visit Vitabergsparken.

To be honest, this is more of a summer activity so if your in Stockholm anytime between June-August, this applies to you. Vitabergsparken is a smaller park located in the middle of Södermalm. This is where you’ll find attractive, young locals basking in the summer sun while sipping beer and rose. If your looking to catch some R&R while getting a tan, this is the place to be.
