The Experience:
Samabé Bali is the ultimate place to relax and find your bliss. At Samabé, you’re always surrounded by lush green palms and tropical flowers. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a monkey or two among the trees. The sun drenches everything in gold and the horizon of the calm cerulean ocean follows you everywhere you go. Between the sun, the palms and the ocean, you’ll find the perfect island paradise you’ve always chased in your imagination.
The resort is spacious but not ridiculously large or spread out. It’s reasonable to walk between the different attractions without needing to call a buggy every time you want to go somewhere. You can leisurely stroll and drink in the rich tropical landscape as much as possible.
The design is refined and luxurious without taking itself too seriously. Common spaces such as the lobby, lounges and restaurants have an open layout so that you can remain in the landscape outside. Other than the rooms and fitness center, there are no areas that are completely closed off or indoors. Balinese and Hindu artworks are scattered and delightfully reveal themselves throughout the property. All of the art is happy and playful, like the dancing goddesses and statue of a smiling Ganesha, which makes being at Samabé such a joy.
The resort features a swimming pool, spa, fitness center, private beach, wedding chapel, and a beach cave for romantic dinners. The main pool overlooking the ocean is where you’ll want to spend literally all of your time. The infinite stretch of teal and electric blue ocean is akin to what heaven must be like. You can enjoy the ocean from up top or down by the beach, where day beds and bean bags on the sand are conveniently placed. The cave right next to the beach is a unique feature of Samabé. It’s a naturally cozy, intimate space where guests can have the unique experience of fine dining in a cave with their feet in the sand.
There are three restaurants on property, each with a different menu but all of them providing relaxed ocean-side dining. Rempah-Rempah is where guests can sample Indonesian and Balinese cuisine all day, along with Asian and Mediterranean if they’re hankering for something closer to home. Te.Ja.Co Lounge & Bar is the breezy contemporary lobby bar for libations and snacks. Crystal Blue Ocean Grill serves steak, seafood, and sushi along with stunning views of the Indian Ocean.
The Rooms:
Guests can happily book knowing that every suite and villa at Samabé will have a gorgeous ocean view. The suites are set on the cliff so they get a full-on view of the glassy Indian Ocean and a private balcony where they can enjoy it. The villas are set on staggered hills throughout the property, providing a tropical garden view along with the ocean. All villas come with a private pool and tons of space, which definitely makes it worth the splurge. One of the perks of having a private pool is that you can order the extremely Instagram-able floating breakfast basket every morning.
The design of the villas is luxurious while being supremely relaxing. Tropical colors and prints overlap naturally with rich teak wood architecture. Soaring high ceilings and big wide windows make it seem like a natural extension of the environment outside. Artistic touches such as the cascading seashell chandelier and unique batik prints create a contemporary rather than rustic feel.

What’s not included when you stay at Samabé? Even the standard privileges come with all the fabulous inclusions you could want and need. Standard privileges for all guests staying at the resort include: breakfast, afternoon tea on the beach, non-motorized watersports (stand-up paddle boarding, catamarans, kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing), cultural classes (Balinese cooking, woodcarving, yoga, Balinese offering lessons), 24-hour butler service and unlimited soft drinks at any of the outlets.
