Asian fusion, suckling pig and the “Los de Sashimi” taco.

My family and I recently took a trip to Bali. We had the most incredible 10 days hiking Mount Batur, swimming with elephants, playing with monkeys, viewing temples, relaxing by the pool, and most of all eating amazing food. Here are the best restaurants where we ate in Bali:
1. Bo and Bun
Jl. Raya Basangkasa No. 26, Seminyak, Bali 80361, Indonesia (map, website)

Bo and Bun is a casual Vietnamese restaurant located in Seminyak. It has a great menu, fast service, and fresh food. We split a bunch of appetizers including the rice paper rolls, bulgogi fries, and pandan chicken, which were all amazing. We also ordered the “Bun Bar Xao” Vietnamese Salad with lemongrass tofu and the “180-Hour” Pork Belly Bites Vietnamese Salad. The salads were so delicious that I had to go back the next day and get another one.
2. Naughty Nuri’s
Jl. Mertanadi No.62, Kerobokan, Seminyak, Bali (map, website)

Naughty Nuri’s is a casual restaurant started by a couple named Brian and Nuri. Brian, from New Jersey, was vacationing in Indonesia when he met Nuri. After getting married, Brian and Nuri opened Naughty Nuri’s. It is known for its pork ribs and martinis. In fact, if you finish three martinis you are inducted into the “Nuri’s Wall of Fame” and get to carve your name into the wall of the restaurant. We ordered the Nuri’s chef salad which was light and refreshing, the pork ribs which were glazed in an incredible barbecue sauce, and the truffle fries. The service is fast and the prices are very affordable.
3. The Plantation Grill
Double Six Luxury Hotel, Seminyak, Fourth Floor, No. 66, Double Six Beach, Bali (map, website)

The Plantation Grill is located on the 4th floor of the Double Six hotel. It is a fine dining experience, known for its meat and seafood. The restaurant gives off Great Gatsby vibes, complete with a live singer and saxophone player. We had an incredible meal. Make sure to try the Indonesian bread, the black truffle mac and cheese, beef tenderloin filet, and tiger prawns.
4. Potato Head Beach Club
Jl. Petitenget No. 51 Seminyak, Bali 83061 (map, website)

The Potato Head Beach Club is definitely a place you have to visit one day. It is located on the beach and has a huge pool, comfy lounge chairs, and incredible drinks and food. It is definitely a scene you cannot miss. Share a boat with your friends and you are sure to have a good time. The food is also great.
5. The Sayan House
Jl Raya Sayan No. 70 Ubud, Bali, Indonesia (map, website)

The Sayan House is a Mexican-Asian fusion restaurant with an amazing view overlooking the rice paddies. The service and food were impeccable. You cannot miss the “Sashimi Gunkan” sushi and “Los de Sashimi” taco.
6. Mozaic Restaurant Gastronomique
Jl. Raya Sanggingan, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali 80571 – Indonesia (map, website)

Mosaic is hands down one of the best restaurants in Bali. We ate our 10 course, candle-lit dinner in a gorgeous garden. The ingredients used in all the dishes are local to Bali and our server gave an explanation of the ingredients making up the theme of each course. It is an experience that you cannot miss.
7. Sardine
Jalan Petitenget 21 Kerobokan, Bali, Indonesia (map, website)

This seafood restaurant is located in the middle of the rice paddy. It was a beautiful restaurant with great service and tasty food. The sea bass is great. Definitely order the raspberry chocolate fondant for dessert. It is heaven.
8. Barbacoa
Jalan Petitenget 14, Kerobokan, Bali – 80361 (map, website)

Barbacoa is a hip restaurant with an industrial look. Their food and drinks are great. Barbacoa is known for its suckling pig which you can see roasting in their open kitchen. Don’t miss the chocolate truffles for dessert!
9. Ibu Susu Kitchen and Bar
Jl. Monkey Forest Padang Tegal Kelod, Ubud 80571 (map, website)

Ibu Susu is a modern, casual restaurant serving Asian fusion food. The owner, who moved to Bali after living in Australia, is the nicest guy who makes some amazing cocktails. It’s definitely worth a visit.
