Just the name of the city, Paris is romance, adventure and novelty.
I was 13 the first time I went to Paris and I spent the entire weekend feeling like I was walking through a glamorous movie. Since returning after that first visit, I’ve grown to realize that the city has much more to offer than the notorious destinations, but if you’re a first-timer to the city of lights, you have to hit up the classics.
Although spending a day walking along the Champs Elysées and watching the sun set from the top of the Eiffel Tower may seem cliché, it’s a cliché you should experience. I have been to Paris multiple times, but I have yet to visit without a walk along the Seine ending at the Notre Dame cathedral.
Paris always has something new to explore. I could spend a week in the Louvre and never see a majority of the museum. Every time I go to this city I find a different trendy street and there are still dozens of restaurants I am dying to try. I spent the majority of my last visit tasting my way through the city: L’As du Falafel (for the best falafel you will ever taste), Angelina’s (for some mind blowing hot chocolate) and Ladurée (for their world-famous macaroons and extravagant shop) were some of the highlights.
I love to experience new places. I will usually pick a new destination over one I have visited before and I get a thrill whenever I set foot in a new country or city. But a trip to Paris, for the first time or the tenth, never disappoints. Paris truly is always a good idea.
