While in L.A. for work, my friend invited me to her mat Pilates class at YogaWorks Westwood. I was hesitant to engage in a new form of exercise as I’ve been having lower back issues, however the mat Pilates class was a powerful, revitalizing experience.

The class was taught by the wonderful Lesley Logan, who also teaches pilates classes at Equinox and leads private sessions and retreats. Throughout the class, my body was challenged in new ways as I worked and stretched muscles I did not know I even had. About 65% of the movements incorporated the Pilates magic ring and the other movements were performed sitting or standing on the mat.

The flows focused on proper form, core strength and flexibility. Lesley incorporated variations on each exercise to create a class that was the right challenge level for beginning to advanced Pilates students, making the class a perfect fit for people with a range of Pilates experience.

After taking this class I finally understand what all of the hype is about. Lesley’s class definitely made me sweat so I left feeling like I got a great workout in addition to rejuvenating and healing my sore back and hip muscles. For any fitness enthusiast traveling to L.A., I highly recommend a Pilates class with Lesley. It will heal your journey weary muscles and keep you on-track to being your best self while traveling!

it never fails, every time i return to @yogaworks_westwood my heart warms and memories fill my mind. as a student, i experienced my @yogaworks 300hr. Professional Program within these walls. senior teachers sharing their gifts each weekend with a wealth of knowledge that I know with certainty that I haven't fully absorbed. creating community with so many that have gone on to teach, manifesting their dreams and inspiring mine. honing my own skills to develop as the teacher I am today. years later, I return regularly to share what I have to offer as a teacher. this weekend, I am leading Opening Weekend. setting the tone for their 6-Month journey – baring witness to their excitement, nerves, anticipation of what's coming. an incredible privilege that I don't take lightly. i pause and reflect. i look back, and then slowly draw my attention to now. and with my feet rooting into the earth i take a deep breath, hold space and smile. my teachers, teachers teachers and the lineage that i come from lives within me and I humbly am ready to share. @sarahezrinyoga @marybethlarue @tiffrussoyoga @hayleighzachary @gigiyogini @soulcenteredyoga #yogaworks #ywtt #yogapractice #yogacommunity #teacherstudentrelationship #yogateacher #yogateachertraining
