Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is a gem tucked away discreetly in the loud, bustling heart of downtown Bangkok. With the perfect blend of first-class, approachable service, Anantara Siam Bangkok fully lives up to its expectation as the finest luxury hotel in Bangkok.

Entering Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is like leaving the city behind and stepping into a calm and composed oasis. The hotel is rather inconspicuous next to its towering neighbors as it’s only 9 stories high. But as soon as you pass the marble entrance, you find yourself in a colorful lobby enlivened by jazzy piano music and other relaxed and content guests.

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel is an iconic fixture in the city. It’s been around for over 30 years, which is quite long for a city that’s constantly reinventing itself. President Obama and George W. Bush stayed at the hotel during their visits to Thailand. The hotel is known as a place to be seen, for visitors and locals alike, due to its sophisticated and welcoming setting. The gold trimmings around the lobby are considered auspicious and make it the top locale to conduct deals for businessmen. Even monks from local temples come around early every morning to bless the hotel.

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel sits proud and pretty next to its other five-star neighbors in the swish district of Ratchaprasong. It’s a high-class neighborhood surrounded by consulates and diplomats as well as the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. It’s also a robust shopping area with CentralWorld Shopping Center right around the corner and Siam station shopping malls a few blocks down the street. Ratchadamri BTS station is literally across the street so it’s easy to get around by BTS Sky Train. And the lush, relaxing Lumpini Park is a 10 minute walk away.

The style and décor of the hotel is vibrant and sophisticated without being over-the-top extravagant. The hotel goes for an authentic Thai style with regal silk tapestries and lots of natural beauty. There’s much outdoor space and nature throughout the hotel which is a treat, given that it’s in the city center.

There are 10 different types of rooms ranging from the Deluxe and Premier Rooms to One or Two Bedroom Suites and the Presidential Suite. Even the Deluxe and Premier Rooms are spacious and flawlessly decorated, with nothing lacking in terms of comfort or amenities. One very special room that the hotel has is the Two Bedroom Jim Thompson Explorer Suite. It’s named and styled after the American businessman who revitalized Thailand’s silk industry in the 1950s-60s. The suite has a colonial summer home feel, decorated with beautiful silk fabrics and designs. The hotel is currently curating a comprehensive experience through which guests can stay in the suite, see the Jim Thompson House and visit one of Thompson’s living apprentices who still mills silk in Old Siam.

The best brunch in Bangkok takes place at Anantara every weekend, where even Thai locals come out to take part. Brunch is a large, lively affair at the hotel with different food stations that wrap around an entire outdoor patio. One can delight in fine European charcuterie, fresh sashimi, Thai street food, other ethnic cuisines and of course, a full bar that serves mimosas.

Other than weekend brunch, there’s no shortage of amazing cuisine at Anantara Siam Bangkok as the hotel offers 9 different dining options. There’s Biscotti, known as the Best Italian Restaurant in Bangkok, which consistently wins awards for high-quality Italian cuisine. There’s also Shintaro (Japanese) Madison (French and American steakhouse), Spice Market (Thai), Pop-Up (wine and charcuterie) and Aqua, an open-air bar. As Aqua is situated in the center of all of them, guests can sit and order from any one of the restaurants while sitting outside.

There’s also a spa, swimming pool, event spaces and an in-house barber who many people don’t know about, but should because he cuts hair at very affordable rates!

Anantara as a brand prides itself on luxury that still feels highly accessible and personal. Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel particularly succeeds at providing genuine, warm service and attention. As the lovely Director of Public Relations, Monica Majors, explains:

What’s making us so uniquely different is having an accessible brand like Anantara which has always been known for our authenticity. No one hotel is alike to another because it takes what’s indicative and indigenous of that area. I don’t mean that you sacrifice luxury. You’re still local but your amenities and your offerings and experiences and service deliveries are always five-star… Our service is luxurious but it’s also approachable, accessible. The management is very transparent. We’re always available. We’re always here and accessible and that makes a huge difference because it makes you feel warm and welcome. Especially with a hotel that’s this big you can lose that really easily.
