I wasn’t expecting much from Croatia’s capital during my three hour train break there en route to Budapest from Split.
But after a brief look, I was very glad that I had the chance to see even a small part of Zagreb as I found it incredibly sweet and impressionistic. As the capital city of Croatia, Zagreb is a lively economic and political center with lots of technological research and industry.

Despite the hustle and bustle, the capital still feels like a cozy town with its winding streets lined with colorful houses and charmingly decorated cafés, shops and terraces. The cathedral in Zagreb is by far the most beautiful I have seen in Europe with its cream colored edifice and gold embellishments.
Take a peek at this gorgeous European capital that is both underrated and up-and-coming—you’ll definitely need to stop by.
