Renowned names within the industry includes: Xavier Chapelou and Kumiko Ohta who will conduct lessons of the origins of sake, etiquette, ingredients and production.

Harrod’s event is reflective of UK’s growing fascination with sake, particularly Londoners’ desire to drink Premium Sake with further sophistication and understanding of its profound traditions. Today, sake is being served outside of Japanese restaurants. They are furthermore popular in gastronomy restaurants and trendy bars in the city. The rising popularity is due to the fusion of sake with non-Japanese cuisines.
Xavier Chapelou and Kumiko Ohta will include some of the finest rice wines and provide qualification certificate in the Masterclasses.
Meanwhile, a London Sake Challenge will also be held on August 18th, 2014. A jury composed of the best sake professionals in the world will award Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the best products presented at the event. Sake buyers in UK, Japan and international markets have also been invited.
