Making its highly anticipated debut on Monday, September 23, 2013 will be the new Esquire Network. Commemorating the magazine’s landmark 80th anniversary, and timed to coincide with the magazine’s anniversary issue in October, the network will air an original “Esquire 80th Anniversary Special” that looks back at the magazine’s influential forces in the social, political and cultural arena throughout the last 80 years.
The new network has been developing orignal programming, including: The Getaway, which explores the world’s most amazing cities through the eyes of a revolving cast of travel-loving celebs. The show will debut on Wednesday, September 25 at 9PM ET. You’ll see Belfast, Ireland throughout the eyes of actor/comedian Joel McHale, female rapper and actress/musician Eve will take the show to Kingston, Jamaica while world-renowned chef José Andrés eats his way through San Juan, Puerto Rico. Other globetrekking stars include: Aisha Tyler, Aziz Ansari and Rashida Jones. And we can’t forget to mention that the show is also produced by no other than, Anthony Bourdain.
Other shows in the pipeline include: Knife Fight, an underground cooking competition hosted by Ilan Hall, American Field Trip (working title,) a trip across the country with photojournalist Matt Hranek in search of people, places and objects that have symbolized a true American spirit through time and history. Brew Dogs (working title) will showcase Scottish beer evangelist James Watt and Martin Dickie who travel across America to visit a different american beer town, celebrating the country’s distinctive craft beers and create their own locally-inspired draft.
